What is the best freeware registry cleaner out there--and one that is safe for an all thumbs like meself

CCleaner 1.13 is the best in the freeware category (though not necessarily the best there is.) You can download it from download.com

Registry First- Aid is also another option.  It too can be downloaded from C/Net via www.download.com

Downloaded cleaner 1.13 off of zdnet-used it and 1/2 way thru it gave me illegal opperation and then booted me., but thats ok--whatis one to expect for free??? But free is still the best price I can afford Welcome geek II, Geek 1 is a great geek, later y'all and thanks for your help--as Popeye said: I yams what I yams-but I always hoyught yams was sweet potatoes Later

Norton Systemworks, a utility suite containing norton antivirus, internet security, and a few other system tools contains a great registry cleaner and the price is very competitive. Also you may wish to check out registry mechanic a fairly low priced registry scrubbing program. Here is a link to their web site
