I just got an Athalon dual processor driven mega machine. I purchased it online from Hewlett Packard. I am very happy with it except for one thing.
It gave me the user name of HP_owner" and it won't let me change it! In documents and settings, under user, I want my own name... but it just says "HP_owner". It is really making me mad. There are two other names. Guest and Mystery. I called that one mystery because it is a mystery to me as to where to even find it.
Changing the user name can be either a very easy task or a moderately difficult task depending on how much you care about never seening HP_Owner again.
If you just want your name changed in my documents, logon, etc., then just go to Start | Control Panel | Users | Change My Name
If you wish to fully rid yourself of HP owner folder itself, you will have to work a little! Go to Start | Control Panel | Users and create a new user account. Copy all your documents from your HP_Owner to this new user accounts document folder, copy your favorites etc, then in the new user account go to Start | Control Panel | Users , select HP_Owner and delete the account.
