New PC-Transferring (password-prot) My Doc's & Pics (not protected)

Hi All... I have an old Gateway and just got a hum-dinger of a built Dell. I will be using a program that transfers my data such as My Documents and My Pictures.  The problem.... the letters and such in My Documents are password protected.  Do I have to go back through hundereds of letters and UNPASSWORD protect them? Oy Vey

I'm not doing the set up or transfer myself..... my father is. I don't know what program he's using to transfer all the data.  Do you think I have to go back manually and un-password protect all documents --- or will they just go over as they are?

Thanks all~

Doni

Welcome Tyvm54601!

You should be fine transferring the files provided you use a good tool to do so. I would suggest you use the windows XP file and settings migration wizard for that. In order to use this wizard:

Click Start on the computer running Windows XP, point to All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then click Files and Settings Transfer Wizard. You should be able to follow thru this wizard as it is quite easy!

If you have any problems please let us know!
