INTERNET PROBLEM

Well let me see who can answer this problem that I have. To get started in July Wireless internet finally came to my area that I live. Got hooked up, and things went rather smoothly for a short time. Then one day it went out for about half the day, then it came back on. Then a little later it went out for several more days. I was not able to recieve packtes but could send. My provider said that I needed a new Ethernet card. So I got one and still the same problem. Then it started to work again. At this time my internet has been out for about two weeks. I was working fine one day then come home the next and it is showing no or low connectivity. So I entered the IP address and gateway and everything else in manually. I was able to get rid of the no or low connectivity error message, but I still could not recieve any packtes. My provider came by and we unplugged the ethernet cable from my computer to his laptop and his worked. I brought my laptop from work home to try and still the same, was not able to get on the web. I took my home computer to a friend and he was able to get connected. So why does it work on his computer with the same manually ip address entered just as the same as my home computer, but my home computer or my laptop does not connect. Is there magic in his computer? We are both at the end of our ropes on this. Do not know what to try.

Thanks

Terry Smith
